The teenage years are a time of tremendous growth, discovery, and decision-making. At Legacy Academy, we help students develop the faith, character, knowledge, and skills they need to thrive as disciples of Jesus Christ, leaders in their communities, and lifelong learners.

Our secondary program combines rigorous academics, meaningful mentorship, leadership development, real-world experiences, and a vibrant community where students are known, challenged, and encouraged to become their best selves.

 

Faith at the Center

Each day begins with a student-led devotional, creating a culture where faith is not merely discussed but lived.

Students are encouraged to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ, seek truth through both study and spiritual understanding, and develop the moral courage to live according to their convictions.

Seek Ye Out the Best Books

We believe that great books shape great minds.

Rather than relying primarily on textbooks, students engage with timeless literature, influential thinkers, primary sources, and ideas that have shaped civilization. Through reading, writing, and Socratic discussion, students learn to think deeply, communicate clearly, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.

To support this mission, Legacy separates English into dedicated Literature and Composition courses, allowing students to spend significant time reading high-quality literature while also developing strong writing and communication skills.

Students are invited into the "Great Conversation" that has shaped human thought across generations and are challenged to consider timeless questions of truth, virtue, freedom, leadership, and purpose.

 

Truth, Liberty, and God's Hand in History

At Legacy, students are encouraged to see the world through the lens of faith, truth, and eternal principles.

In history, students explore God's hand in the affairs of nations and individuals. They study the rise and fall of civilizations, the influence of ideas, and the principles that have shaped human freedom throughout history. Particular emphasis is placed on America's founding, the remarkable individuals who helped establish the nation, and the timeless principles of liberty, self-government, personal responsibility, and virtue that made the American experiment possible.

Students are encouraged to thoughtfully examine both the triumphs and struggles of history, seeking wisdom from the past while developing gratitude for the freedoms they enjoy today.

In mathematics and science, students discover order, patterns, laws, and relationships that reveal the beauty and consistency of God's creations. Rather than viewing these subjects as disconnected facts and formulas, students learn to see them as opportunities to better understand the world God created and the principles by which it operates.

Whether studying literature, history, science, or mathematics, students are invited to seek truth, recognize God's hand in all things, and develop a sense of wonder, gratitude, and responsibility toward the world around them.

 

Mentorship and Self-Government

At Legacy, teachers are more than instructors—they are mentors.

We believe true freedom requires self-government. Students are challenged to develop responsibility, self-discipline, resilience, leadership, and accountability as they take increasing ownership of their education and choices.

Within a culture of high love and high expectations, students are encouraged to become confident, capable young adults prepared to lead and serve in their families, communities, and future professions.

 

Preparing Students for Real Life

A Legacy education is about more than academic achievement. 

Through our unique Legacy Foundations program, students receive practical instruction in leadership, communication, emotional resilience, personal finance, healthy lifestyles, family relationships, and other life skills often overlooked in traditional education.

Student favorites include Emotional Resilience and Dating & Healthy Relationships, courses that provide practical tools for building healthy relationships, navigating challenges, and preparing for successful family life.

We believe education should prepare students for much more than college and career, but for strong families, meaningful relationships, and lives of purpose.

 

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Some of life's greatest lessons are found in experiential learning

Students participate in hands-on projects, presentations, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and even educational travel.

Each year, high school students have the opportunity to participate in an experiential learning trip. Past adventures have included Guatemala, Mexico, and Southern Utah, where students serve others, strengthen friendships, challenge themselves through outdoor adventures, and create memories that last a lifetime.

These experiences build confidence, gratitude, leadership, teamwork, and a broader perspective of the world. Plus the are just lots of fun!

Our theater department has become one of the highlights of the Legacy experience. Students collaborate on stage and behind the scenes to produce exceptional performances that build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills. Recent productions have included The Lion King, Fiddler on the Roof, and Cinderella.

Legacy Academy students complete a well-rounded course of study that includes:
